hi all, so, installed kubuntu 10.04, , couldn't let things be, installed gnome, , plan install few other desktop environments fun later. however, when installed gnome (apt-get install ubuntu-desktop), realized kdm's default session whatever session used last time. i'd rather kde, since know i'll using out of of others. how can make kdm default session kde, instead of whatever previous session was? thanks. *thinly disguised bump* so, nobody know how (or if possible)? i had hard time getting conexant based tv tuner's sound work succeeded modifying /etc/modprobe.d/options file saw on ubuntu forum neglected bookmark page. sound works when shut down tvtuner sound stays. tried typing top in terminal , saw 2 instances of pulse audio playing couldn't kill them. guess modified root file when "fixed" "no sound" option. wonder if there easy way fix this? couldn't in sound options muting input or output. partially fixed no turn off sound in tv tuner. downloaded "gnome alsamixer" synaptic, made desktop icon easy access. muted cd function. apparently sound card works when plugged cd connection on motherboard , continue sound if cd not muted. try next see if tv tuner works without connecting mb think tried before , did not work. i have medical billing form scanned acrobat 9 proextended.  using form wizard, created fields.  once done, tested out , filled out necessary data.  looking computer screen, (fields & texts) looks suppose be.  however, when print "form fields only" onto pre-printed medical billing form, texts not line up.  the texts located on top 1/3 of document 3-4 milimeters lower suppose , texts located on bottom 1/3 of document centimeter above suppose be.   i new acrobat user , @ total lost do.  appreciate if can me?!?!  it sounds have "fit printable area" selected under page scaling in print dialog. hi! i'm semi-new ubuntu- do know way around terminal , general system procedures. here's situation need with: an upgrade %100 pwnd system: performed upgrade lucid karmic , lost keyboard input , sound etc etc etc . i made karmic boot-run/install cd, & usb startup stick. i backed up important information on flashdrives etc. at point in time i have 2 partitions 1 old user account & info on it, , other new (re)installed karmic partition. my question is: what procedure for: a) formatting drive , b) not keeping 2 partitions, , c) re-installing ubuntu (karmic) onto it? have gparted ( can't see how use format ), , i have no clue how format drive either within gui or @ command-line. how format & re-install ubuntu? what sequence or steps? can re-install intuitively i'm concerned there may ubuntu tricks don't know about! also- 2 partition thing cause complications formatting?? my question how format drive wit...

good day,   our company planning on start using pdf document forms send through e-mail customers can print them out , sign it. problem can add stamps "sign here" on pdf document make default setting document in default printed out without "sign here" stamp. noticed if open file on different computer brings "document , markups" on print window wouldn't want write lengthy explanation every e-mail send customer telling them how can print out without "sign here" stamp.   is there solution here me accomplish it?   thank much! with form fields , comments, can set visibility "visible but doesn't print" through properties menu. i'm not 100% sure if applies stamps well, it's worth try... hallo, ich hab da ein kleines verständnisproblem mit zusätzlichen libraries. auf meinen mac habe ich unter os 10.7 die aktuelle arduino software installiert. jetzt habe ich mal zum testen die test librarie von dieser seite http://www.arduino.cc/en/hacking/libraries in den ordner  mac os -> benutzer ->ingo -> documents -> arduino (dort werden auch die eigenen sketches gespeichert) den ordner libraries angelegt und dort das entpackte verzeichnis von der test librarie rein kopiert.  wenn ich jetzt die arduino software starte kann ich unter exemples->  test dort das doing sketch öffnen. nach dem öffnen klicke ich auf verify und bekomme folgende fehlermeldung in file included doing_something.cpp:1: /users/ingo/documents/arduino/libraries/test/test.h:11:24: error: wconstants.h: no such file or directory wo mache ich da falsch? hier noch das sketch code: [select] #include <test.h> // doing something // john doe <http://www.yourwebsite.com> //...

hey, bought asus eee pc 1001p netbook, , have installed ubuntu netbook remix on it. wireless on device works after installing newer kernel, including 3g wireless adaptor. trying install kismet on netbook, i'm not sure wireless driver tell use. wireless device listed wlan0 , (apparently) uses ar2427 atheros wireless chipset (according forum post!). if relatively new chipset, i'm not sure work @ :s thought i'd ask, see if don't need external one. ideas how working? hallo, ich mache zzt ein praktikum und muss werbung erstellen. diese plakate entwerfe ich im adobe illustrator cs4. habe eine benutzerdefinierte größe eingegeben und losgelegt. als ich dann zum drucken kam hatte ich ein problem. ich würde mein plakat gerne a4 drucken und das macht es auch aber ich muss es ja dann noch zu schneiden und da fehlen mir die schnittmarken, diese habe ich nämlich nur den 4 ecken. außerdem fehlt mir immer die hälfte meiner buchstaben, bzw. meines bildes, d.h. wenn ich ein hocker auf diesem plakat habe dann habe ich nur eine halbe rolle und genau da muss ich es zusammen kleben d.h. ich müsste mit der hand den rest dazu zeichnen. habt ihr vielleicht ein tip wie er mir meine schnittmarken anzegt und auch mit ausdruckt, und das nicht die hälfte meines bildes bzw. meiner buchstaben fehlt?! danke im voraus lg julia pdf erstellen, aus acrobat drucken. illus druckfunktion einfach nur *pfui*   mylenium More discussions in ...

i've run nightmare significant gamma shifts wrecking lot of work we're trying export using prores codec , after effects cs3 (and cs4).   i found supposed fix, has not solved problems: http://blogs.adobe.com/toddkopriva/2009/12/prores-4444-colors-and-gamma-s.html   i appended suggested xml edit last line before  </mediacoreqt...>  in both cs3 & cs4 files. same infuriating darker gamma result after both edits.   scenario: large targa sequence we've been working on months, established pipeline of compiling targas in afxcs3 (osx 10.5.8), project settings/color settings/working space = none, exporting sequence prores 4444, gamma set automatic. colour matched targas perfectly.   now we're trying use new macpros we've bought job run 10.6.2. prores 4444 compiles coming out darker! i've tried xml edit (both cs3 & cs4), adjusting system gamma 1.8 new 10.6 default of 2.2, adjusting legacy gamma setting in project settings, etc... colour wrecked!! wtf?!?!...

hi, i made projects in tha past, inexperienced in protocoll work except serial.print command feeding data via usb. here question. i'd connect sensor (and interface sensor not problem) feed engine control unit. engine control unit has following data shown on webpage: modbus 57600 baud 8n1 format no hardware handshaking total 47 bytes per packet - byte 0 = slave address = 0x01 - byte 1 = command = 0x03 (read holding registers) - byte 2 = word count = 21 (there 21 word values gauges log) - bytes 3 44 = actual data - bytes 45 , 46 = crc (can used data integrity, or can ignored). can give me hint how implement arduino?  :~ it appear each time device sends data, sends 47 bytes. so, wait there 47 bytes or more read, read 47 bytes. i using photoshop cs3 , printing onyx rip software. when export icc profile printer use in photoshop soft proofing, not showing up. after talking onyx rep. said icc profile printers version 4 , photoshop cs3 doesnt read profiles past version 2 ... need know if there way around or options have... thanx! photoshop cs3 works fine icc v4 profiles. photoshop (and other adobe apps) have been compatible icc v4 profiles since v4 spec. completed (and had preliminary support before that).   but left details out. exactly isn't showing up, in application? it sounds profile isn't showing in onyx software. good day, all... i'm recent convert linux , couple of weeks ago inherited pangolin performance panp5 laptop system76. i'm running ubuntu 10.04 , has been great. problem concerns wireless, , haven't found thread in forum deals problem have. through network manager, can see wireless routers around me, including mine, , connect wirelessly internet. can disconnect , easily, , once i'm connected don't seem have problem. after working fine first week or so, taking *forever* establish wireless connection... twenty minutes or so! don't think there's problem router because partner's computer has no problem connecting , it. notice network manager applet doesn't seem work well. when select router want connect to, takes forever allow me enter password router. seems sit there , think *long* time (easily 10 minutes or more!) before accepting password , logging me in. also, when right-click on on applet, opens 'network connections...
