yesterday, needed transfer files local machine friend, made guest account on ubuntu desktop , let him grab stuff via scp. good. however, wondering if there's convenient way keep eye on he's doing, files he's downloading , how long have left, etc. think of far: * using system monitor system->administration menu, see data still being sent. * using top or htop see processes guest user running. * running 'ps -u guest' way see processes. suppose these okay, top/htop takes looking processes scrolling/sorting , that's little inconvenient. meanwhile, ps command quick, doesn't give detail. instance, if guest user in process of doing scp transfer, ps tell me he's running scp , process number, no details. top/htop tell me exact files being transferred listing whole command. guess if same detail top/htop gives, convenience of ps, happy. i'm sure there other nice ways of doing too. test, installed wireshark frankly that's litt...

i have been testing installation of joomla 1.0.8 on yahoo hosting package.  installation process straight forward , painless.  here have found in regards using email forms. in general: smtp: have not been able smtp setting work joomla.  smpt setting on desktop client work fine. php mail:  1.- contact email address must within domain.  can set @ modules>contacts>manage contacts. 2.- must have php mailer setup correct in yahoo hosting. 3.- when ever email form filled, "from email" field must within own domain.  otherwise yahoo not send email. 4.- yahoo has limit of 250 emails sent outside domain per day(outgoing emails).  once 250 count reached, yahoo disregards emails. has being able successfuly use smtp in yahoo hositing?  if hear comments. utilizing smtp, think wuould eliminate 250 emails per day count issue.  other issues addresses can resolved modifications code. hope hear comments soon. sandro. sorry, not answer looking for: quit such r...

hi all,   we have cs3 running on g5.   we want upgrade i'm interested in advice on should ask for. i'm not sure budget we're including in hd upgrade of suite.   so here's few questions:   1) firstly, i've heard pcs stable macs ae, agree? since work clients in room lot, stability main issue.   2) have pc running avid , perhaps use rather buy new one:   win xp prof x5450 @ 3.00ghz 8 cpus 3gb memory nvidia quadro fx 3700   could put vista 64 , more ram (how much?) onto this? quite machine? can't run win 7 64bit it's not compatible interplay.   3) if went mac route kind of price equate above pc build - assuming acceptable build.   4) vista 64 allow multi core processing? on g5 leave off there huge delay @ start , end of processing, i'd heard intel chips don't this. 5) vista 64 allow use of more 3gb of ram (which i'm stuck with)   6) idea on cost upgrade cs3 cs5? there difference if change platform?   any appreciated   cheers forg...

sorry if topic discussed-i never found solution worked me. admin menu items not drop down. following performed: joomla installed @ dedicated hosting [mysite.com/~site1] then registered domain name in .com zone, , made alias mysite.com/~site1 the site joomla default web site accessible through both mysite.com/~site1 , *.com created the joomla backend accessible if login *.com/administrator there no drop down menu in administrator panel. if access backend mysite.com/~site1/administrator ok. i noticed problem in accessing script /media/js/mootools.js (for reason says 404, weel 404 /media/js , 403[forbidden] media) permissions /media 755 would appreciate cause spent time trying solving it. thank you. found solution Board index Joomla! can use pistore , synaptic or other(package management software) in combination? or 1 delate other? they should have no massive bearing on each other. developers have arranged packages retrieved via apt-get when downloaded through pi store. potentially have issue if 1 of these packages installed via pi store , later removed external pi store, real consequence of can imagine pi store think package installed when of files have been removed. if circumstance occurs, hitting 'uninstall'/'delete' in pi store should rectify it. hope helps, ~richard williams raspberrypi

i installed design prem cs4 on new macbook pro. have seagate 500mb external drive attached. i've noticed when i'm in ps, not recognize external drive - cannot open file drive in ps, cannot save file while in ps, etc. not have same issues while in indesign, ill etc. also, while in ps if attempt open or save, dialog box show external drive without "eject" icon, unlike ill , ind - , if attempt click/select drive not select (again unlike others). wondering if there's this. annoying have save files mac hardrive , drag them on external 1 program. anyone? how external formatted?   i have 320gb western digital (time machine) , 500gb seagate (for videos) both accessible opening , saving in ps. both formatted hfs extended. i open , save no trouble flash drives, unless format 1 on pc, won't cooperate.
