Thread: 10.04 on Acer Aspire One ZG5. TouchPad, Wireless and Scanner not working.

hello there.

i'm not using linux on old aspire 1 because never find distro works well. okay while hardware new, however, nowadays hardware pretty known , popular, , want run ubuntu on it.

i've tried netbook remix, i'm not comfortable using , mic , webcam didn't work out of box.

ubuntu 10.04 desktop seems more friendly , i'm more used it.

works out of box, wireless, touchpad , scanner aren't working. i'm 100% sure isn't hardware problem.

i've tried set permissions of scanner (hp psc 1210) bus 777, doesn't work. either "simple scan" , "sane" programs aren't working, sane returns i/o error , 'simple scan' crashes.

touchpad doesn't work @ all, not r/l buttons working, however, typing fn+f7, icon of touchpad appears on screen, able virtually enable/disable it.

wireless behaviour weird. "on" light doesn't turns on, , activity light blinks , system finds networks, unable turn on/off.

else working well, battery life still shorter "other" os though, , totem isn't able reproduce video if 2 screens in extended desktop mode, it's necessary deactivate 1 screen watch video.

can aid me... want rid of other oss.
