Thread: Wireless switch doesn't work in the evenings

this weird. have dlink dir628 wireless switch capable of g/n , either 2.4 or 5 gigahertz frequencies. works fantastic during day 6pm hits, can't load pages. timing out, half page loaded, , again after midnight or it's fine again.

here's troubleshooting did:
- girlfriend's macbook works fine time
- switching netgear wgt624 (g only) switch works fine
- switching dlink 5 gigahertz works fine
- moving building , using dlink works fine

it's in girlfriend's apartment in evenings computer 2.4 gigahertz setting can't use it. can't set 5 gigahertz because that's n , girlfriend's macbook g only.

think happening someone's using cordless phone or microwave , it's messing signal, make perfect sense since it's in evenings, why can still use wireless fine?

computer dell studio 15 wireless g/n card running latest ubuntu.

a microwave or cordless phone have (extremely) close (in same room) have sort of effect.

it's possible gf using of bandwidth viewing streaming videos (e.g. tv via internet), or downloading huge files via torrents.
more you not have secured wireless network. if such case, , given time-frame of regular occurrence, may in building freeloading off you.

think of it: 6 pm midnight awfully l-o-n-g time talk on cordless, or cook microwave, n'est pas?
