on june 17 2010, devastating f4 tornado struck rural community of wadena, mn usa

according wadena county sources, tornado touched down @ 5:10 p.m. , left 10-mile path of destruction in both residential , commercial areas. (wadena, population 4,300, located 45 miles west of brainerd in central minnesota.)

thankfully (and amazingly), minor injuries reported. however, wadena-deer creek high school, wadena community center, minnesota state community college, wadena county fairgrounds, city cemetery , other areas suffered severe damage. @ least 230 homes either damaged or destroyed.
