Thread: ndiswrapper stuck in infinate loop trying to install wnda3100v2

ok, im trying wireless using netgear wnda3100v2 dual band. ive followed directions here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1383708 , when install inf file ndisgtk stops responding. when go terminal , try list drivers installed ndiswrapper appears stuck in infinate loop ( must press control-z kill process). more confusing, when try remove driver using ndiswrapper, message saying not installed. confusing, if try install driver terminal, message saying installed.... gives?

point out ndiswrapper becomes useless , way have been able work again formatting hd , reinstall distro.

distro using ubuntu 10.04 64 bit
ndiswrapper-1.56

ideas on how working?

identical problem here. wnda3100v2 on mint 9 ubuntu version (i'm on mint because thought might problem specific ubuntu 10.04 deleted os , install mint trial).

makes no difference if use synaptic ndiswrapper package or build more current version (1.56) source.

has been driving me absolutely nuts couple of days.

i've tried installing software versions 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.6 , 1.7 wnda3100v2. bcmwlhigh5 installs ndis not bcmwkhigh6. ndis tells me driver bc-5 installed , correctly identifies usb wireless. if reboot system crashes , need open in failsafe , blacklist ndiswrapper kernel module won't load @ boot. can reboot no problem
