Tip: grouping of content items on frontpage - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support
hi all,
just felt sharing .
although frontpage component quite versatile, there things cannot it, such applying divisions. felt nice have few articles on, say, "sport", couple on "politics", , still few others on "miscellaneous". no way of visually separating groups of articles on front page.
ok... here's how go about
make few content items, putting them in category never display regular content - i.e., should no direct link them.
each item has no intro text, , no body text either. well, intro mandatory, seems, can switch off in publishing parameters. that: don't show body, don't show intro. these items should have title. , title should have "visually separating" qualities. instance:
you put html code in title . 1 yellow line, word "sports". put @ proper place on frontpage, sports articles begin, , you'll have nice visual anchor them.
one remark: works fine if put frontpage items in 1 column. when have more columns, not way go.
why make things difficult when easy goes?
