Thread: If i don't use Ubuntu for a week, it doesn't work anymore

hi! have little rare problem..

if use ubuntu times per week, there isn't problem. if don't use short time (a week), when want use again , select on grub.. after first loading screen (on ubuntu 10.04 purple screen ubuntu in white , points under), screen black.

computer screen receiving signal because led green , not brown/orange when on standby mode.

on windows haven't problem.

first time happened ubuntu 9.10. didn't got solution , format partition , install 10.04. happen again 10.04.

have ati 5770 , have tried drivers since 9.12 till 10.4 (last ones best have had)

on versions before 9.10 had no problem, can't confirm that, because had other graphic card (nvidia 9800gt). 5770 didn't work on previous version updated 9.10 , after problem, updated 10.04.


@ spanish forum, people don't know solution problem, never read similar problem. hope know solution it, because 1 found , work is.. format , reinstall.

when @ black screen, can still switch terminal? (ctrl-alt-f2)

if so, happens if restart x there?
