Thread: How do I get the screen corner clickable to close maximized windows?

before go further let me make clear post not in regards shuttleworth's recent decision move "titlebar buttons". don't care , in fact saves me time since i've moved close button left side , removed minimize , maximize buttons anyway.

problem made more annoying because thought done it. i've been , forth between distros, kde, , gnome since 2000. . . run head first issue out of nowhere. . . feel i'm in 2003 again.

according fitt's law, corners , edges have infinite width far user concerned, 1 of reasons have loved gnome long because of use of corners, imagine surprise when can no longer throw mouse cursor corner , close maximized window i'm using, instead drags window. obnoxious , useless. can grab @ other part of top edge of screen outside of far corner in order drag window, why happening again? frustrating particularly since gnome supposed damned concerned usability.

think change might have monstrosity known gnome-shell. guess figuring proposed 2.30/3.0 switch on new window manager, whatever metacity. . . or maybe gnome-shell uses same configurations metacity (seems plausible), know pisses me off.

may seem trivial it's daily use factor me , have no way of changing behavior. want able throw mouse in corner , click, never seemed big of issue in past, don't see why developer(s) saw need change this.

, forestall ask me switch metacity compiz or vice-versa, it's both , not going use compiz's own digusting window manager themes, metacity themes.
other choices kde, enlightenment, openbox or xfce, first 2 travesties since i'm used gnome applications , don't in de's, third looks crap (to me) , xfce has corner close button functionality per theme (some themes , don't) i'm sorry love gnome-panel much. i'm happy default ubuntu layout change annoying.
