Thread: Domains and URL shorteners

recently, ive noticed lot of tweeters (including myself...) have been using own url shortening services (other bit.ly, is.gd .etc .etc).

thing is, lot of these tweeters (such techcrunch) use tlds not correspond country in. example techcrunch uses tcrn.ch, , last time checked, not based in switzerland. im planning on buying 1 of thingies myself (dolp.au), , im wondering if registering these domains make shortened url nice is right/ethical.

i don't see ethical consideration here. tld isn't promise of location or quality. tells little how domain has been registered.
