Thread: New Battery doesn't reported correctly

hi all,

installed lucid on old laptop.
laptop acer travelmate 3200 series
more specific: acer travelmate 3201xmi

after year decided new battery since found cheap ones on ebay.
got new 1 designed capacity of: 7200mah
actual information acpi within linux are:
code:
cat /proc/acpi/battery/bat0/state present: yes capacity state: ok charging state: charging present rate: 327 ma remaining capacity: 6900 mah present voltage: 12597 mv inglor@selene:~$ cat /proc/acpi/battery/bat0/info present: yes design capacity: 7200 mah last full capacity: 7026 mah battery technology: rechargeable design voltage: 11100 mv design capacity warning: unknown design capacity low: unknown capacity granularity 1: unknown capacity granularity 2: unknown model number: 05za serial number: 32035 battery type: lion oem info: sanyo
the problem panel on gnome-desktop doesn't display information read console through acpi.
doesn't not updated unless plug in or out of power adapter.

noticed though information updated once run:
code:
cat /proc/acpi/battery/bat0/state present: yes capacity state: ok charging state: charging present rate: 290 ma remaining capacity: 6918 mah present voltage: 12600 mv
i wondering how gnome-power-manager reading battery percentage , if possible access acpi.

on secondary issue know how reset profile of gnome-power-manager since has statistics old (broken) battery.

ideas/help great.
