Thread: help! - unplugged 10.04 server won't boot

someone unplugged our 10.04 server last night , won't boot. running samba fileserver , zimbra mailserver on virtual machine. i'd set , don't have backup yet. linux pretty new me i'm in bit of panic.

far i've tried booting cd , seem able mount md0 drive whilst running in rescue mode. i've tried "apt-get update" , "apt-get -f install" (i figure should naming package "apt-get install" anything). i've tried running "apt-get check" doesn't list broken dependancies.

think i'm try using re-install grub loader i'm worried overwrite data on md0 drive (that's software raid drive system boots from). i'm not sure had grub running first place.

pointers, suggestions or words of encouragement appreciated.

in advance,

aidan

you want check filesystem integrity of raid unit.
