Thread: Weird battery discharge rate

hello...

i'm using ubuntu netbook remix 10.04 on acer aspireone d260 netbook.

1 of weird situation i'm in weird discharge rate of battery life...

full charge, i'll 4hours 20-50minutes remaining on battery life, , i'm using netbook surf net, using wifi.

here's weird rate, when click on battery icon, says left 4hours 20minutes, after 5 minutes drops 3hours remaining...then few more minutes, went 4hours...then went 4hours 15minutes...and few minutes again...i got 4 hours 20 minutes, left, again.

know what's cause of problem? kernel problem or?

also, found in net, , stated ubuntu 10.04 consumes more power windows 7...but prefer ubuntu os netbook it's lightweight, @ same time don't want sacrifice battery life...

current kernel

type in terminal see if temporarily fixes problem:


gconftool-2 --type=bool --set /apps/gnome-power-manager/general/use_time_for_policy false
