Thread: IEEE 1394 (FireWire) problem


hello:

installed kubuntu 10.04 lts fresh , going move backup files on when discover none of firewire ports work. have 1 on audigy2 zs , 1 on motherboard. when plug in drive, powers on , spins, os not detect it. has usb well. when switch interfaces, detected immediately. has else encountered this? how fix it? i've found couple of ancient threads regarding similar issues, none of them helped.

have checked package manager firewire related software? problem possibly resolve if install firewire package. have never messed firewire, though, don't know else tell you.
