Thread: Disable touchpad while typing

i've read through https://help.ubuntu.com/community/synapticstouchpad can't seem disable touchpad while typing (it seems extremely sensitive touch).

can't disable touchpad, else disable x.org input
code:
$ sudo aptitude purge xserver-xorg-input-synaptics reading package lists... done building dependency tree reading state information... done reading extended state information initializing package states... done writing extended state information... done following packages broken: gsynaptics xserver-xorg-input-all following packages removed: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics{p} 0 packages upgraded, 0 newly installed, 1 remove , 17 not upgraded. need 0b of archives. after unpacking 365kb freed. following packages have unmet dependencies: xserver-xorg-input-all: depends: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics not installable gsynaptics: depends: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics not installable following actions resolve these dependencies: remove following packages: gsynaptics xserver-xorg-input-all score 188 accept solution? [y/n/q/?
there no touchpad tab under "system > preferences > mouse".

i've tried installing gsynaptics returns error: "gsynaptics couldn't initialize.
have set 'shmconfig' 'true' in xorg.conf or xf86config use gsynaptics"

enabling shmconfig doesn't seem work: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/sy...hpad#shmconfig

else can do?

install gpointing-device-settings has replaced gsynaptics.
