Thread: select alternative kernel problem

if select ubuntu 10.04 lts, kernel 2.6.31-21 generic instead of
ubuntu 10.04 lts, kernel 2.6.31-22 generic booting memu, got
error:

mount: mounting none on /dev failed: no such device 6d966f507
chroot: cannot execute /etc/apparmor/initramfs: no such file or directory

if wait, it'll boot system , seem ok.

can tell me how solve problem?


background:

ubuntu 10.04 upgraded way 8.10 on time. can see newer versions fix problems , i'm fine until ubuntu 10.04 whith kernel

ubuntu 10.04 lts, kernel 2.6.31-22 generic

makes system slow , unstable. can tell how slow dual core 2.2 ghz (dell d630): game quadrapassel's 1 block drop top bottom took 2 min ! apps randomly no responding etc...

select older kernel seems solve problem of slowness...

upgrading problematic many issues yours appearing whereas fresh installs have far less of sort of issue.

recommend make separate /home partition , fresh install of 10.04.
