Is there a multi-authoring solution with RH Server apart from RH client?

greetings:

is adobe looking price out of hat market?

just got pricing on rh server 8 ($2000) , $1000 per rh 8 client (as write still verifying pricing, because first told me each user need full rh server 8 license, meaning $10k 5 authors). 5 authors, that's $7000 (unless $10,000 ;-), , 99% overkill on multi-authoring side, since need 1 rh 8 client management , publishing, , simple wysiwyg additional authors needed, , indeed learning curve rh versus wysiwyg makes paying lot of money huge training burden & support headache. real?

i'm researching hat's , i've got same or better featured server/multi-author scenario going helpserver $4000 (unlimited additional authors), doc-to-help enterprise mere $1500 (also unlimited authors), , flare complete feedback server , 5 x-edit author/users less $3500, not including support packages. considering fact there virtually nothing rh others don't, , quite bit others rh not, have wonder -- why there no simple learn, inexpensive buy wysiwyg (something contribute) multi-authoring in rh server?

since it's html, in fact go contribute, direct changes not reflected in rh client files. that's thing have automated beyond contribute-like wysiwyg, or missing?

just occurred me, have contribute users make changes rh shared directory, published there. hmmmn.

anyone have workaround or other solution here?

dems breaks suppose. 1 way past have 1 robohelp server license , 1 robohelp office license. have other authors use microsoft word maintain content. person uses robohelp office (client part) import , link word documents managed other authors. if worked way looking @ total outlay of $3,000 instead of $7,000. suspect might better deal $7,000 if worked sales.

keep in mind robohelp server relies upon content created robohelp. there no "limited wysiwyg editor". provide reporting project merging. there nothing lends simple wysiwyg editor provides window server content.

i cannot speak other tools cited. maybe work in manner , maybe don't. , maybe misunderstanding actual capabilities. cannot say.

additionally, it's helpful keep in mind way robohelp works today designed , maintained folks known madcap. because of that, i'd surprised find madcap products operate in totally different manner. maybe do. adobe acquired product virtue of acquiring macromedia. didn't design way works. although have enhanced it. see no reason shame adobe.

can expound on claim " there virtually nothing rh others don't, , quite bit others rh not". ios "quite bit" others doing robohelp isn't? robohelp seems competitive feature set me.
