correction of distortion possible?

hi!

i dentist specialising in implants.

at moment there 2 ways diagnostics before treatment.

either 3d scan works great means more radiation patient or

with panoramic xray (the 1 goes around head while taking picture)

 

ok. when take panoramic picture implant diagnosis attach metalball (5 mm diameter) area want place imlant. when see xray can measure dimensions of ball see how xray distorted. important because 1 mm more or less can mean sucess or damaged nerve.

 

my question if there way if have image in photoshop (cs4 extended) select metalball , tell photoshop correct dimensions whole image gets corrected? know how select things in photoshop (using pen , wacom tablet) won't problem.

select ball, , new layer via copy (ctrl+j). select move tool, , check "show transform controls" in options bar. drag vertical , horizontal guides center of copied ball (they should snap). use elipse tool ctrl+alt make circle in new layer, centered on ball, use guide.

 

go move tool , copied ball layer. transform copy aligns circle.

 

now select original layer, , edit > transfom > again (shift+ctrl+t).
