Thread: how to disable tooltips ?


hi,

sure has have complained one.
since installed 10.04 have noticed constant , irritating tips ubuntu keeps providing pointer rests anywhere.
appreciate idea behind such tips surely case of overkill !
irritation further aggravated when began using open office. exploring menus check on differences ms office became quite task. had keep moving cursor in order able see main menus in open office program had !
can please put me out of misery , suggest way @ least temporarily if not permanently disable these tool tips ?

if using compiz can set tooltips opacity 0 in
ccsm > accessibility > opacity brightness , saturation.
move slider above 0 before closing if make mistake, all
windows aren't transparent.


there setting in gconf-editor turn off tooltips panel.
/apps/panel/global/tooltips_enabled
