Template Jakarta Times - anyone know how to use it? - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hi everyone,

first post total joomla newbie. downloaded template suits me called jakarta times. emailed developers, haven't received reply yet (3 days). (this happens me lot - wonder if emails filtered spam or - i'm polite when inquire) wonder if of know template --- or if can tell me how change little things?

it has header i'd replace.

it says "welcome front page" i'd replace big image (and maybe caption underneath - not sure)

in right column, i'd display weather , 1 local movie theater's listings if can figure out how grab feed either google or yahoo. know how can this?

being polite thing , won't result in email being filtered. unfortunately not companies @ customer service.

have read of introductory documents on editing templates:
http://docs.joomla.org/joomla!_1.5_template_tutorial

i'm sure general principles described in above documentation should understand need particular template.
