Thread: rescue vm from unbootable host


hi,

i've hardy / zimbra mailserver running on 10.04 host. host unplugged last night , won't reboot. i've booted in cd in rescue mode , i'm save backup of vm (i know - should have had 1 already!).

want sure i'm not missing i've got


  1. /etc/libvirt
  2. the source file listed in qemu xml file (mine /virtualmachines/mail.qcow2)

there else need in order recreate vm should fail rescue host?

first live cd can host. post boot script in signature, posted in code tags, unless quite sure it's not salvageable.

vdi file in vm if it's vbox has info on copy out, , see if run in virtual. don't remove host copy , rest of files in folder.
