Thread: Open Office running can't close it

hi have big problem. when try install synaptic, message pops :

openoffice.org running right now. can cause problems (de-)registration of components , extensions.

should close running instances of openoffice.org (including running quickstarter) before proceeding package upgrade.

how close when it's not running. can 1 help.

look in system monitor see if it's running. if trying update or upgrade open office outside of standard method, might want know open office finicky program. give explanation of doing in synaptic causes warning.
