Thread: ATI Radeon x1950 Series Video Card Problem
first off i'd new whole world of linux os. installed ubuntu 10.04 on computer other day. proved challenge @ first managed work way through problems. firstly managed install world of warcraft, , works, sort of works lol, thats part of problem.
after had installed wow ran program, able log in, found lot of objects in game weren't being rendered, i.e. characters, mounts, etc. of terrain rendering though. fps extremely low, 3-4 fps, in past computer ran 60-70 fps no problem, windows xp.
first off tried restarting computer see if work, no luck. started little research...
found should see if video card rendering tried:
glxinfo | grep rendering
and received response:
direct rendering: yes
i did a:
lspci | grep vga
to make sure video card being recognized, , being seen radeon x1900, in reality x1950, dont if thats issue.
found forums mentioning envy, found no longer being supported ubuntu, , not sure if ati catalyst drivers provided linux work either.
in matter appreciated, have other problems on top of stack @ moment.
thank you
