Thread: Resize a physical volume, will lvm freak out?


so i'm installing bsd in virtual machine play around it, may install machine if have enough fun

current partition layout.

code:
disk /dev/sda: 251.0 gb, 251000193024 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 30515 cylinders units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes i/o size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes disk identifier: 0x000e5e32     device boot      start         end      blocks   id  system /dev/sda1   *           1          36      289138+  83  linux /dev/sda2              37       30515   244822537    5  extended /dev/sda5              37       30515   244822536   8e  linux lvm
/dev/sda5 physical volume in volume group, lvm freak out if go resizing can carve out space bsd.

here screen shot of system-config-lvm if relevant.

yea, will.
if shrink parition on vg residing, lvm freak.
but, why want that? whole idea of lvm let lvm handle resizes..
