Thread: New to Ubuntu/ubuntu 10.04

hi, new ubuntu please gentle, have blonde moments, pardon pun.

had ubuntu 9.04 , upgraded 10.04. downloaded directly computer , did not live cd. hard drive looks on way out. quite number of years old (at least 4) , son tells me long life hard drive. won't argue guy grew in technological age. lol

ok questions follows:

1.
how create live cd have on hard drive not loose have on there? (i have set stuff downloaded software centre skype etc)
2.
can drag , drop or cut , paste ubuntu onto new drive? , if work if installed directly there if did way?

have 2 hard drives in computer, 1 has the ubuntu , programs etc on , other hard drive has files on it. (this way boy trained me in event drive died -always looking out mum lol)

not computer savvy if guys possibly advise in lamen terms, or rather in advise if talking silly person.

gparted allow "cut , paste" existing partition onto hard drive, can copy whole existing setup new hardware quite easily.
