How Rovio Robot orientation works?

hello everybody,
can me explain how works? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yry3awud26g&feature=related
i mean magic light shines on ceiling.. , how robot knows now?

my guess it's similar orientation sensor on wii remote.  sensor uses 'camera' reports position of brightest ir spots.  if spots in known position relative docking station rovio have absolute coordinate system relative docking station.  additional spots added absolute coordinate system can extended.  if sensor looses sight of spots has use dead reckoning.
