what does Inline object "Y offset" mean exactly?

hi everyone,

i confused inline object y offset. mean exactly? looked on adobe help, here says there.

inline
aligns anchored object baseline of insertion point. can adjust y offset position object above or below baseline. default type of anchored object. in earlier versions of indesign, these objects called inline graphics.

so.. baseline @ insertion point?  if y offset negative number, mean baseline move up? how come object doesn't move ? adobe say, "adjust y offset position object above or below baseline", doesn't mean baseline should stay , object moves accordingly?

lot!

the y offset tells indesign how (positive) or down (negative) move anchored object relative baseline attached to. turn on preview , start changing values see how affects result.
