OK to edit images in Folders versus Collections?
hi,
i new lr. of work, import raw images lr , use or create 1 or more collections organize imported images. editing within collection.
there jobs, however, straightforward , don't need benefit of collections. these jobs, want import raw files in folder, simple quick develop edits in library mode, export images jpgs. once job completed, move files internal hd external hd , @ point delete files lr catalog.
question: there reason can't of image editing work in folder, rather create collection images in folder? seems work fine working in folder rather in collection, thought i'd ask because maybe i'm missing something.
thanks!
john
john,
when in lr, you're working on image itself, no matter view you're using see (folder, collection, smart collection, ....). you're pointing same thing, have differnt ways of arranging subsets of things.
one exception above: if you're applying picks/rejects, these stay local image, meaning image can picked in collection , rejected in folder.
so answer is: yes
